That's an interesting armature, what is it and is it stiff enough to not move around? I have used wire in the past but I hate using it because I can never keep it in the middle of a sculpt, I invariably end up with wire on the surface poking out.

It's called Loc-Line and I get this type via CR'S Crafts. It's absolutely brilliant stuff. Easy to position but stiff enough to hold a pose. A lot of the plush artists I know use it but this is the first time I've invested in it (in the past I've just used wire, too).

I see you are into sculpting - I'm not sure this stuff would be suitable for putting clay over. It would definitely weigh it down. If you haven't already, check out a book called Pop Sculpture. I learned more from that book in an evening than I've learned my whole life messing around with sculpting. It shows a really good way to build an armature and even mentions how to recover from the wire poking out issue, if I remember correctly. Because that ALWAYS happens to me.
