I commissioned this work from 
Jandan a few years back. Not long after a dear friend of mine and I had an argument that left both of us storming off in a screaming huff. I felt horrible for what I had done and wanted to make it up to my friend. I knew that they loved badgers, so I thought to get this drawn for them as a way of saying, I'm sorry I screwed up.
This fellow has recently messaged me to congratulate me on my adoption and we have been talking again. The past is the past and I think we're ready to be friends again.
And please, out of respect for their privacy, no guessing who this is meant to be. And if you know, please say nothing.

Fighting with a friend is definitely some tough business. I'm glad that in the end, you two seem to have been able to come together in some way. Part of me is happy for you based on your description of events, and the other part of me just keeps laughing at the message, "I'm sorry I was an ass, I brought you this badger."
I've been on the other end of this, actually. I've cut ties with people before for treating me like a jerk, and not having any sort of remorse for it. I can say, that this is a pretty good way to say "I'm sorry, please don't sue." in fact, that's what I'd do. Show this to them, and say "I'm sorry, please don't sue."
*snickers* I saw this the first time it went up and read through your explanation. I came back just now to make a comment and can't help but laugh at how you edited out your "unnecessary self-flagellation" as you put it. Such a good conscience that you have. *knuckles your forehead*
