Back in ancient times, people still lived in medieval times and people were still living in peace amongst the exotic creatures that was in their world. However, there is one species that causes some tyranny among the others, dragons. Dragons are the mightiest and toughest creatures throughout the world. They are very proud creatures who consider themselves the dominant species of earth. They can breathe fire conjure magic of any degree and doing almost anything. Some dragons use their power to help people and for the greater good. However, some have sought out treasure, riches in order to make their own kingdoms, and hordes of treasure for them to keep.
In this time, there was a tribe of wolf warriors that lived in peace and was very peaceful to others, however, every year they had to sacrifice themselves to a dragon that would leave them in peace so long as they made the sacrifice. The dragon’s name was Orochiglith, the 1000 yr old dragon of darkness. He does this for every village that was around the world and he does them in a chain called the circle of darkness. The dragon even had a sacrificial ceremony to see who would be the one to be a sacrificed to him in order to keep the village safe from his wrath another year. When the dragon was not on a wild rampage throughout the world trying to kill everything that he saw, he would get hungry. Each year during the day, he takes a scale off his body and transforms it into a sword; he would call it the sword of darkness. He would throw the sword of eternal darkness with the blade glowing in black fiery blaze and makes it careen into a random house in the village. The villagers would look in terror as they saw the house of which the members of their own tribes would be sacrificed. Then came the worst part, the family would only have only have until midnight when they would have to send their loved one off into the caverns of Dark Mist where the dragon would reside and then eat them and returned to the his inner sanctum until he gotten bored and went on another rampage.
Today was the day when the night of darkness had finally come for another year and it was noon and everyone one was waiting for the sacrificial ceremony to begin. Wind began to stir and the air fell cold and from the distance beyond the mountains came a sword that was shrouded in darkness and it came zooming from the origin where the dragon had laid. It hit the noblest house of the Karolin, one the wolves’ bravest warriors that the village has ever known in his 30 year old prime. This is sword of darkness had finally hit his house even though it has been untouched for centuries. Karolin looked with a bit intimidation in his eyes as the sword had hit the roof of his house. However, it did not get to him to go about his day as he walked out of his house with a smile on his face. Even though people were murmuring about the wolf warrior having to be sacrificed to the dragon, it did not seem to bother him one bit. The wolf’s tribe was still in awe as he went about the day training the rest of his tribe’s warriors. The youngest one of the tribe Amadea wanted to talk with him to see what he was so happy about. She walked with her mother and then she gave a couple few tugs on his pants while she was a bit in tears. He turned around and squat so that he could meet her eye to eye. “Well hello there little Amadea, whatever has you in tears?” She tried to wipe away the tears but more just kept coming, “Mr. Karolin, why must you go to save us all? Why?” He patted her head and said, "I must do this so you can grow into the beautiful young wolf you were always meant to be.” She started to burst out in more tears as she knew that if he had gone on this journey to the Caverns of Dark Mist he will not make it back. She gave him a hug much to his surprise and happiness. “But I don’t want you to go, you were always the one who…who kept me out of trouble! You were the one that gave me hope that this village would be safe.” He hugged her back and said, “Don’t worry; we will all be safe, and soon this who ceremony will cease forever.” He gave a kiss to her forehead and she went back to her mother still in a bit of tears with a smile on her face. Not only did he give the girl something to look forward to, he also gave her mother Vera, something to look forward to. “Oh how I wish that someone could put an end to that dragon’s terror so that we may live and prosper in peace.” Karolin stood up again and said to Vera, “I know but no matter what, this horrible time of day will soon become the foundation of the time when we can celebrate our time of freedom.”
He then continued to go back and train his tribe in the art of swordsmanship and archery. It was now 7 hours after the sword had struck his house and the tribe was not less worried as they feel somehow that this was a little off. Everyone in the village decided to throw a feast to in order to commemorate Kartlik’s daring sacrifice. The village leader Memnon has begun to make a toast. “A toast to Karolin, for without whom, this village would have been vulnerable to pillagers, vandals and every criminal we have known….to Karolin!!” The entire village would then say his name after the Memnon. After they had a wonderful meal and they have began a little festival a roar came from the mountains near the cave of Dark Mist as the dragon was about to come on his way. Of course this was known as the hour of remembrance, to which the village had one final hour to remember their own loved one before he had to meet the dragon at The End Valley. When the dragon had done this the first time, he left an impression when the sword glows red. It means if you are the sacrifice, “You Have One Hour Left!” At this time he had when back to his house and got on normal battle clothing and grabbed 2 swords and then came out of his house. Even though it was the last time that the villagers were going to see him, they gave him a small satchel in with each family giving him their most prized possessions. He rose the bag of heirlooms in the air and gave his declaration, “With all of the gifts that you each have given me, the end of the annual sacrifice is nigh!!” Everyone cheered as he took his horse white stallion and rode off into the night.
Now that the he was on his way to End Valley, he saw a familiar shape in the distance that has haunted him ever since he was a child. Orochiglith the dragon of darkness, on four of his legs at a mere 100ft tall, if he were to stand up on his hind paws, his height would span up 300ft and a wingspan up to 1000ft in order to support his large body. Now that Karolin was at The End Valley he got of his horse and petted him. Before he went before to his side of the valley, the dragon came emerging from the shadows with his sharp teeth and fangs bared, his claws were sharpened to go in for the kill. And then he landed down with a thump in order to intimidate Karolin but he stood his ground. The dragon had then lifted himself up on his hind paws with malice intent on his face and rubs his right index finger and thumb on his right forepaw and said, “Finally my dinner has come, now then shall we soothe my hunger with your body?” Karolin then breathed from his mouth took out his swords in a flash like speed and gave a glare to Orochiglith as the battle was about to begin. The dragon had begun to charge his nightshade fire power as he does to every villager that tries to fight for his life. But then something unexpected happens that the dragon did not foresee. Karolin threw down his swords in front of the dragon and Orochiglith turned off his fire breath and looked down to the wolf. “What is this trickery, have you come up with some type of witchcraft to smite me?” The wolf looked up at the dragon and said. “You and I both know how this will end; there is no point in fighting a lost battle when we both know the victor will be you!” The dragon got a disappointed look in his terror glared yellow eyes. “Hmm, well this we be no fun if my victim does not try to fight for his life. Tell me, what makes you so sure that this battle is lost?” Karolin looked down at the ground and said, “I have taken a different bath that no warrior will take. No one will ever come back alive when it comes to meeting you and lived to tell the tale of that. Even though I have come determined to come back alive, I know that I will not. I may have left a hero to some, but as I stand in front of you I now stand in fear.” The dragon lays down in the middle of the valley and said to the wolf, “You villagers come to me in hopes of somehow honoring yourselves in hopes that I might leave your village alone, in what hopes do you think that will happen?” The wolf then got an angry tone in his mouth and exclaimed, “Have you ever thought that this might damage us in some way? We might be small alone, but together we can rise to the occasion and become more powerful than any dragon that we might face that is evil. Plus, we have the ability to provide food shelter and protection for one another. Evil dragons like you, pillage that away!” The dragon got a little anger and raised his left forepaw with his claws about to make a strike. “I should end your miserable existence right now!!” The wolf then shook a little because the cold chilling winds that the dragon had whipped from his wings. “If you kill me, you shall become hungrier than anything in this world until there is nothing left for you to eat!” The dragon then lowered his head to eye level with the wolf, “So? What else is there for me to do besides torture mere mortals like you?” The wolf then stood back a little and said, “You could have food, everyone would not treat you like a monster and they would prepare food for you so long as you respect them oh great dragon.” Orochiglith had then glared at the wolf and spoke with a tone that sent terror down the wolf’s spine, “That was the words of a villager centuries ago before he tried to slaughter me!! He said, we could be ‘friends’ but he became lunch and I’ve became what I am today!” The wolf then stopped shaking as he could feel the betrayal and loneliness in the dragon. “I won’t do that to you, I swear. I’ll even give you the rare heirlooms as a signature to show that I am honor bound to my word.” The dragon then took the satchel and used his bone chilling magic to levitate each heirloom in the air. “No one has ever gone so far as to give me gifts before.” Karolin made a slight approach to Orochiglith and touched his claw. “Maybe it is because everyone treats you that way of a monster. But I promise if you come back to the village with me and return the heirlooms to each family it will never be like that again.”
The dragon then shook his head and shook his large claw with Kartlik’s hand and went back to the village at dawn. Everyone came out of their houses assuming the worst. However, there was a roar in the sky and everyone looked shocked to see that Karolin was riding Orochiglith. Everyone looked scared at first because the dragon was very scary. Orochiglith took off the satchel from his right fang and put on the ground. Everyone was happy to get their heirlooms back. Orochiglith gave a blink of and bow of respect before he was about to go back to his cave. However, little Amadea was going after him and gave a tug to his tail. “Mr. Dragon, won’t you join us for breakfast?” The dragon and people gasped as this was never seen by a little wolf girl. The dragon turned around to her and gave her a little lick as her mother began to faint. Orochiglith gave her a smile and said, “I’d be delighted.” Everyone gave a loud cheer as there was going to be no more annual sacrifices. Everyone had then gathered together for breakfast with Vera sitting next to her mother who sat next to Karolin and Orochiglith. Just as people were getting uneasy to the dragon being with them he changed their mind by filling the table with pieces of gold and jewelry. “Everyone, I know this won’t compensate for my past troubles but I do hope that you will forgive me in time.” Orochiglith then had his head down in a little shame as Amadea hugged the snout of the dragon. “I forgive you” she said to him and he got a nice smile as his face and then everyone cheered as he was now their friend. They ate breakfast and then Karolin had whispered in Orochiglith’s ear and the dragon nodded. Karolin took one final look at the village before he got on the back of the dragon and rode off! They went to go spread peace around the world between evil dragons and other villages. Since then the village has learned that you can kill a person with kindness. The village has prospered and became a well organized town. Amadea was now a young lady as she walked to the square and saw that they had built a statue in honor of Karolin and to her happiness Orochiglith no longer the dragon of darkness, but the dragon warrior. She stood in front of the statue and gave a tear but not of sadness but happiness. “It was great to see that a dragon could change, I just wish they would come back”, the 15 year old wolf had said. Her mother, Vera had her hand on her should and said, “I’m sure they will return when the time comes.” A roar came from the sky as they saw a familiar shadow figure coming from the sky…Karolin the Legendary Warrior and Orochiglith the dragon warrior had finally returned home.
