Even Annemarie likes to feel like a woman sometimes, believe it or not. She owns one dress. One nice blue dress, which she kept with her throughout her entire journey, never wearing it for lack of a social function to ever actually show it off at (or a time in which she could actually bear to be apart from her longsword for a short time).
And of course, the one time she actually goes to an event and wears it, somebody crashes the party over some noble feud, or tries to kidnap her for ransom money /again/. It's a good thing she had the foresight to sharpen the poleaxe on the wall.
