Dressed in the style of 18th century France (think Marie Antoinette). Although my primary area of interest is Japanese costume history, I do like any historical dress. The ruffles in this painting were really fun to paint. I love the background in this - needs to be done in a larger size. Acrylic on paper, ACEO size.

Wow... This could pass for an early Victorian dress, too- I seem to recall seeing one design that was similar to this in an old photograph... Sweet colour-choices, too. The wee periwinkles, were they painted, or stencilled? They add such a nice softness to this whole piece.
Gorgeous! And the dress in the Victorian pic- the only difference, really was less hip, more bustle in the back. *grins* They made such beautiful clothes, then... *sighs*
The flowers look so pretty. I might try a water-colour background like that... I mistook them for Periwinkles because of the colour and the style of flower. Four petaled shows up in Periwinkles, too- though they're a bit darker (I checked my gardening book. *blush*).
