One thing I've really been lacking in my character art is action. It's something I've always struggled with, and I know some artists who can pull it off so well that it brings their drawings and characters to life. I'm going to be focusing on practicing that for the time being. The drawings probably won't come out as good as the usual fare, but that's to be expected when learning something new. =P I'm actually pretty satisfied with this drawing, though!
Sorry for the lack of activity by the way. I have a bunch of things going on, so I'm a bit busy/stressed at the moment.

Yeah, they're definitely tricky. So far just studying off of references and adapting my character to them has been really helping. While I'm drawing I can feel things clicking little by little. I recommend trying to do the same if you feel inspired to! References are a great tool. =)
Very nice, I do feel the action (and fear the person he's chasing after). The only things I noticed was that the blade on the sword was slightly too high on the hilt, not centered, and that the forward paw probably should be touching the ground and be angled a bit more severely for a more urgent sense of action. Nitpicking aside, I think you did great with this =)
Thanks for the critique! To be honest with you, I actually prefer the paw being lifted from the ground I think. It makes it feel a bit more dynamic to me, like a brief moment of weightlessness. x) I do agree with you on the hilt though. The sword does indeed appear off-center, so good catch there!
