Strength and Endurance
Based on Chapter 7 of Birth of the Shivanian Heroes: "Brother's-in-Arms"
It was almost evening, the Shivanians of the Great Swamp, however, continue their daily routine with hard training and physical exercises. The late afternoon covered its sky with dense clouds which brought rain onto the jungle, forest, village and training area. Gradually, the humid jungle became darker, and the light was nearly gone from the eyes of the lizardmen. When the raindrops dampened the wooden materials, it adds lubrication with moss-grown surfaces.
From the wet bushes and flowing greenish grounds, Hotara pursued with all of his might to pull his arms on the metallic bar that are supported with wooden columns attached to more sturdy platforms. Every pull-up were counted by his older but fiercer brother Skaro, but Agamid Drakarum stayed clear from Hotara's distance so that the intervention would not react the Shivanian warriors.
The night was out, and the horizons through the trees slowly grew lightless. Agamid Drakarum left his Staff of Nature from his house, which he would have created a lighting for them.
With his energy almost depleted and his muscles closely numbed, Hotara finished 130 pull-ups. Skaro said, "Well done, Hotara. You may go and take a rest."
After Skaro remembered the status report on his younger brother's workout session, Hotara jumped down the watery ground, and he was aided with Agamid to walk home.
This artwork took me more than three months of drawing with this BIG resolution! (which I use the largest scale to draw with cartoon styles) XD But I feel satisfied again when it's all done. I'm glad that Hotara and Skaro are back, and the Scaly Style is drawn again! :) That was close when the Birth of the Shivanian Heroes would be forgotten.
I use this shading, softer than usual, because it's a dark and rainy day, and the natural lights are scattering around. I hope this will work. ^^;
I hate the raindrops... :<
Next time, I will draw the scaly style with lower size dimensions, and I will submit full-sized artworks next time when the original art are free. ;)
It's a remake of "Rainy Lessons" ----> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4699902/

Special thanks to
reptilecynrik for helping with lineart corrections, also with anatomy and background. :)
EDIT: From
symbolhero's comment, the raindrops were lacking in front of the characters and the platform including the water dropping on undersides. It was added. Thanks to him :)
2ND EDIT: Due to some complaints from below, the artwork itself was too dark, so it was lightened a bit but keeping its night scene.

Oh wow, this is indeed a remake from the previews one, and rarely one of your pics with such dark in the environment.
I must recognized your efforts with the raining, it´s well placed, the individual drops falling in different directions, and the impact from the surface looks pretty good ^ ^
Just a little observation, I can see that the drops are just falling at the edge of the wood and the pole where Hotara is holding and also the upper edge of the characters as well. While the rain should be falling above them, not at the very edge.
In other words, the rain looks like it´s not falling straigh down merely in vertical.
Aldo, I suggest you to add raindrops in front of the characters too, because you´re giving the idea that the rain is just falling on the backside and not in front, which is more impossible because Hotara is in front of the others, and even he have raindrops in his upper edge of the body and the others two too.
You shouldn´t be affraid of covering the characters with rain, you should add raindrops in front of them too or the raining has a fake impression ^ ^ººº
Also, if they´re under the rain, you should show that their bodies are all wet, with some drops or the water flowing in the body and making drops below them.
I understand this is one of your firsts tries making rain drops, and it looks good, but the display of the rain in front, covering the characters is what you failed ^ ^º For the next time, when you draw raining environment, be sure that the background is not the only thing that the rain is covering, but the characters as well.
Other than that, I like the rest of the pic, good work ^ ^
