Why am I posting this old art of my favorite OC Marmex? I am considering making an official Beast Sagas beast head, tail and hand paw set as a premade for auction, and the species will the same breed and thus same colors/ear type/tail type as Marmex...
Name: Marmex (marr-mex)
Genetics: human born beast-type
breed: nightstalker (nocternal)
relations: older brother to Shawn
clan members: Nureku, Meka, Durin
age: young adult
color: medium brown that darkens at the extremities, black hair (that grows like a ridge down his back) black tail tip, pale skin.
eyes: golden brown hint of green
personality: carefree and energetic, very optimistic, empathetic to a fault at times, loves practical jokes and poking fun, playful, loves food, hates to be hot, impossible to sleep close to with the way he squirms in his sleep, partially hibernates in the winter, hates snow, very grumpy and nasty when woken up during the day, Durin is his best friend.
My book has humans, beasts and beast-types. Beasts and beast-types live together as family living natural lives in the vast wilderness, humans on the other hand live in cultivated settlements as far from anything beast as they can.... thing is every now and then beast-types are born to human parents.
How?
In short the world they live in has two guardian gods/spirits, a twin brother sister pair, the sister got bored with how reincarnation works and guided beast souls into human bodies, over time they became their own species... despite plenty of natural beast-types being born every year the sister guardian will still create some human born beast-types and ever so rarely they will be born fully human in appearance... and that sets up the first book Twin Scars, where Meka and her twin brother Durin are beast-types born to human parents. Their appearance being entirely human they must prove their beast souls in order to live where they truly belong.
Beastcub comes in at book 4, which not even book one is finished so *shrugs

PS his breed, "nightstalker" sounded so cool when I was 14 but now I am like "laaaaaaaaame" *rolls eyes* especially when all the other breeds are things like Chakreh and Ozzaroo
... I am thinking Nightwalker would at least be a bit less lame (and would pay homage to Princess Mononoke)
