I always wondered if there was breathable air on the moon in the MLP universe. Since Nightmare Moon lived there one would think so. I also wondered if it would be possible to fly to the moon, but if that were the case Nightmare Moon probably would have gotten a lot more visitors. Maybe there was only that one night where the atmosphere stretched out far enough and... wait, back to the picture.

Rourkie said that his pony's coloring resembled his other avatar of a wolfish/feline hybrid. And I instantly kind of saw that as a pony with wolf traits, like an affinity for the moon. Thus, this image was born. (Plus I'm an absolute sucker for drawing backlit night scenes like this.)
