Yogi’s Great Escape (1988) aired during Father’s Day weekend. Despite being a little bland, I enjoyed the movie. It kept the overdone stock gags to a minimum and stayed mostly on story. (Not that there was much of a story to begin with.)
I’m *really* surprised they didn’t bother giving Cindy a reaction to seeing Yogi with those cubs. Yogi couldn’t explain them to Ranger Smith. I can only imagine the trouble he’d be in with Cindy.
Boo-Boo wisely decides to take the cubs and sit this little event out. Too bad that the cubs were just one shot characters. They could’ve added some new levels to Jellystone’s dynamics.
Of all the Yogi movies, this really had some good untapped potential for a character driven piece. Adding Cindy would’ve given both her and Yogi some extra character depth. The cubs had basic commenting personalities which could’ve been expanded. Plus, it would be nice to see Boo-Boo start to act on his own which he’d have to do once Yogi and Cindy got together. It’s such a shame that this fell by the wayside.
Sadly, this is the last pic that my beloved, beautiful, wonderful little baby girl kitty, Mogwaii, “helped” me draw. While I drew, she’d lay on the table behind the lamp. She’d put her head or paws on the sketchpad or try to take the pencil that I was using. Angel, Max and Reina tried to help by lying near me while I colored. But drawing will never be the same without my Sweet Pea. RIP, Mogwaii and know that you are missed.
