Psychonauts 2 plz, k, thnx bai XD

Tim Schaffer said last year that he's gonna start working on it, so we might see it sometime in the next decade. :D

Well unlike Half-Life 3, Psychonauts 2 was never promised. Gabe Newell says he'll release Half-Life 3, but never does. Tim Schaffer made Psychonauts, moved on to other projects, and then said, "You know, I'm gonna make Psychonauts 2." So I'm just saying we should give him a little time to see if he pulls through, because so far, Schaffer's been pretty good about doing what he says he will and keeping promises to the fans.

Long story short, Psychonauts 2 is more possible and we should wait and see for a bit.

I'd say Half Life 3 is actually more likely than Psychonauts 2 personnaly. It is a much bigger franchise, commercially successful from the get go. The fact that it doesn't come out either means that Valve want to make the game as perfect as it can be and thus don't throw themselves in the project rashly or that they just don't need the money. Most likely both, actually.

As for Psychonauts 2, Shaffer and his audience, us, are just unlucky. Big budget quirky lighthearted games simply aren't selling. Look at the last Sly Cooper. Psychonauts fans are really vocal yet I doubt we represent a really lucrative market. It's not that I don't trust Shaffer's words, I do believe they are sincere and his will to make a sequel is real. But I have no trust whatsoever in the gamers, and neither have publishers...

Well if need be, Shaffer can always start another Kickstarter campaign The last one worked out pretty well for him after all.

I wish, but they most likely won't. Psychonauts is in a different league than their crowdfunded game. If Notch removed his chips from the table when he learned the price Psychonauts 2 would cost to produce, that must be quite a hefty sum. And seeing as Double Fine can't seem to budget correctly their games (their kickstarted project can't be fully completed even with ten times the amount they asked received), I'm pretty sure it's just not gonna happen through crowdfunding, it seems overly risky. If psychonauts 2 comes out, it'll probably be through normal means of publishing.

yeah that sounds realistic because I also saw somewhere that he's personally funding it, OH and just cause it's an awesome easter egg, in Alice: Madness Returns, in one of the levels you can find Rasputin's Skeleton XP
