Ahead of her waits a British red fox, watching back with cool, rather stern composure as she sports a red belt with black tabs. Clearly the vixen has superior rank and experience, only one grade before heading for the revered black belt. 'Your records of performance may impress any ordinary folk,' she opened to Lauren, 'but all that was just bread and butter. What you'll be approaching from this point forward is a demanding series of tests and trials that will wreck anyone not sharp enough to keep up with its expectations. Understood?' Lauren nodded. 'Call me Zoe, for I will be your mentor.' The young ladies, clad in martial arts uniforms, simultaneously bowed. 'Anything to say before we open hostilities?' Zoe grinned. Stepping back slowly, Lauren confidently replied, 'Nothing will ever stop me from trying, since I am fully committed to tackle any obstacle lurking before me. Let's not waste time with grandiose statements.' She took a glance at Zoe's belt, then resumed eye contact. 'Instead, let's rock.'"
