8 has that new ~Ambition Mode~ and it's kind of really lame lol. Like, people played the past games to 100% a character and that took long enough, and now this shit just makes playtime even longer and it's not even that enjoyable?? It can be a challenge I guess when you do consecutive battles, but it's still rather boring in my opinion. :/

Honestly though, I can't hate anyone because ultimately I love everyone's importance to the story their changing designs so much. I mean, even if I dislike some of the newer designs (like Zhou Yu being without his headband) I still find it really fun and cool.
Like take Zhang Jiao for an example. Oh my god????????? LOL the 7 and 8 versions of him are so different from how we've seen him in the games before! It's cool that they make these design choices at all.

I KNOW if they can spend time creating an 'ambition mode', thenm they can at least make musou modes for each chara.......i play ambition but its not really all that fun or dynamic so it gets boring. i miss playing through a story mode with a specific chara, though i dont all out HATE the new story mode because it got me liking charas i wouldnt have bothered to play beforehand hahaha.

SPEAKING OF ZHANG JIAO LIKE!?? THE THING THAT UPSET ME ABOUT THAT IS THE YELLOW TURBAN LEVELS ARENT AS IMPORTANT AS THEY USED TO BE. YOU CAN REALLY ONLY PLAY IT THROUGH WITH CAOCAO OR LIU BEI. WHAT GIVES. yellow turban levels are my heckin favorite. because like, EVERYONES THERE. WORKING TOGETHER. FOR THE FIRST AND LAST TIME *OTL* and then shi shue gate is more focused to one side as well. its probably more historially accurate now but i miss how they were in the older games HAHA and i agree, lots of the designs are a lot more cool and dynamic. i cannot say the same for some, however, like sun shangxiang. i very much dislike how theyve begun to portray her and miss her old dw4 attitude-- all of the girls now are just so soft voiced and stuff but i do love the amount of girl chars there are now~~

LOL I have a hard time choosing who to pick in the new story mode, because sometimes it'll give me 2 or more of the characters that I really adore and then it's so hard to pick who to play as!

I WAS SO READY TO PLAY THE YTB LEVELS AT THE START OF THE STORIES BUT- NOPE. That's so depressing aughghgh. I can't blame them for wanting to be as accurate as possible. I mean, they've severely fixed the pronunciations of names recently too lol. "cow cow" is now "sow sow" lmfao. Everyone in the "Seema" clan is now "suma".
I like the amount of girls too, despite how some of them are still dressed rather skimpily lol.
I always liked how Sun Shanxiang got together with Liu Bei though, I thought they were very cute together. I also liked Liu Bei more with his little mustache! lmfao

I could go on for centuries tearing apart everything about everyone's recent designs compared to their old ones though. Same with weapons! I was so sad when Zhou Yu and Zhang He's signature weapons were both replaced with staffs/pikes in DW6. I'm happy they gave Zhang He his claws back, but I guess it's kind of nice that everyone can wield any weapon in 8. I liked everyone having their own weapon though.

I thought that Diao Chan looked too much like Zhenji in DW6 though. Especially because in 6 they kind of had the same kind of whips too??? instead of their normal mace/flute. sigh

we...dont talk of 6. 6 was a mistake. and personally, i think 6 was just a big experiment cause it was ps3, new graphics they wanted to try doing more dynamic things. it didnt work, not really LOL. the only thing really good about 6 was the dynamics and flow of the battle field and how big the levels became.

Yeah I'm not too keen on the whole man/heaven/earth weapon system in 8, but it could be worse lmfao. It's neat regardless since it's kind of like rock paper scissors. I do honestly love how you can use two weapons though. Even if I want characters to have their "favourite" one, I like the second weapon feature. It's like a change you can control, so I could have Zhou Yu with his staff and sword and be HAPPY lmfao

Despite all the upgrades they make to these games, I will always think it's hilarious how the battle of Chi Bi will LAG. I can remember in nearly all of the DW games that the battle of Chi Bi just always happened to lag lmfao. I know a couple other battles lag too, but ever so slightly, so it doesn't matter. Chi Bi though, just- slow motion lol.

ohhh gooddd THE GOOD OLD PS2 LAG. i swear to got dynasty warriors game were the only console games that ever LAGGED FOR ME. i remember that well. i think it was because the frame rate sucked and the series wasnt as big then, but i definitely remember lagging in a few good levels. speaking of chi bi, i was kind of disappointed at how small the dw8 level was?? it was kind of a short battle as well. its just its usually one of the more important, larger battles that takes a lot of time to complete. so it was kind of weird how short and small it was.

honestly dw4 had some of my favorite levels and i wish theyd try to emulate those more, even if they werent as accurate lmao. like the fact you could select which levels to play before the main one. AND DO YOU KNOW HOW BAD I WANT DW4 COSTUMES FOR 8. *curls into a ball and cries*

Yeah same, no other PS2 game lagged for me like it did lol. Chi Bi and the Wu Zhang Plains were the worst for me. He Fei sometimes too.
I just couldn't believe that yeah, while the DW8 Chi Bi level was (shockingly) small, it STILL lagged terribly! I don't remember it lagging like that in the older games where the levels were much larger! Very strange, ugh.
It seems like they needed to sacrifice a lot of environmental stuff like that to better support the new battle system/huge roster of characters.
I don't remember much lag in 5 though.

i really do appreciate the abundance of characters but its not really necessary to make up a ton when 40% of them dont even appear in the storyline or are a predominant tribute to the series! i mean its really fun, but you can take that away and focus on a lot more things. what i liked about 5 is how personal the stories were and how narrative they were. that cOMPLETELY CHANGED in 6-8 to make room for a lot of different things. BUT! seeing as how theres more power for the ps3 they can stand to kick it up a notch. they changed it drastically, but that doesnt always = improved. like i was really excited for the what-if scenarios, but i dont even know how to trigger half of them LOL

battle after battle after battle
and I lack interest in that kind of stuff since it's not as character/story oriented, which of course is what most DW fans enjoy most.
I haven't been able to go past 7 battles without getting anxious and going back to camp lmfao, I'd hate to get close to that 100-battle combo achievement and losE AT 99 LMFAO.
