OK! So, the reason I haven't posted much lately is because (among other things) me,
Blackhorn Buck, 
Nitrinoxus, and 
Rael-the-Aerosol-King have been working on stories in a setting we made called Terica. This is one of those--its not an introductory story per se, but its the one I picked to be the first public sharing of mine. Feel free to ask any questions, share any thoughts, offer any feedback.
