This piece was inspired by a parody comedienne Carol Burnett did of the classic novel/movie "Gone With the Wind." In the movie, Scarlett O'Hara uses Tara's surviving draperies to make a dress to impress Rhett Butler. In Carol's parody, "Went With the Wind," the incident results in a dress with a curtain rod across the shoulders.
Of course in the first season My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode "Boast Busters," Rarity fashions a very attractive gown for herself out of stage curtains from Trixie's wagon/stage. So what would be more appropriate than continuing with the parody version?
Quotes (in case you have trouble reading them):
Rarity: "Oh, I never look bad... even in this!"
Applejack: "Ponyville's burnin'!" (A reference to the burning of Atlanta in the original/movie.)
Art drawn for me by Andy Price during MCCC 2013.
