Courage is not fearing nothing, it's being able to face one's fear.

Max has alot of fears. He's afrade of the dark, needles, killing people, reckless drivers, getting so buff his muscles explode, being left alone, deep water, Rai, getting broken bones, his dad, and alot more. Some of his fears are irrational and he can ignore them with a little less effort, but some are strong, even now and in the future such as his deep fear of the Dark. It's the type of fear that would leave someone siting in the corner of a bright room locked in their house for the rest of their life, but Max's fear had one major benifet. He never wanted anyone to be scared and he never wanted his brother hurt, that thought pulls him out of his fears faster than anything else. He works out constantly to become the big strong brother Tech could rely on despite believing he could explode, he learned how to drive so he can get to work and support the two of them despite fearing he'll die in a crash, he even took Tech to the lake once and ended up getting dragged out of the water because he sank like a stone when he tried to jump in.

Courage isn't when a hero laughs at death, it's when a coward punches it in the face.
