Here is allegedly a rather popular steak house. They too have patio seating on the square, facing the sidewalk. Not a soul to be seen @ lunchtime - AND the chairs and tables are cable-locked and bolted TOGETHER. O.o
"Yes, welcome to Chez LeSteak. Would you like convict or civvy seating?"
Composited HDR image Lightroom -> Photomatrix Pro. To get this effect? Turned off ALL color saturation. Then only added in a touch of color from the -1 EV exposure to drop color into the shadows. Highlights are devoid of all color. A little over the top, but it seemed to want a slightly artsy, surreal effect. More on that later too - I went nuts on a Volkswagen I saw after Torok and I stopped for "lunch". ;>

That's all wrought iron and polished cultured slate. The original photo is rather drab in comparison. I made it MORE drab, then dribbled in a touch of color to make the illusion you now see. :D The entire field to the right where the street is too, in the original photo is completely blown out white. Look closely to find the tail end of an American flag, you'll see a pie wedge of black in it - that is unrecoverable - the camera totally lost it's marbles trying to record so much light and difference in contrast. This is a "blow out". ;) So, I took a "bad" photo and...well, massaged it a little with a prescription for Vicodin. *LOL*
