Behind my print shop, there is a sea of Kudzu vines. It is an island of green surrounded by houses and light industrial buildings. Within this island thrives a family of four foxes, four cats, a raccoon, and a opossum. The large photo shows two foxes and the cat together. The first and second inset photos on the top show the cat leisurely walking by one of the foxes, and the bottom inset shows one of the foxes watching the cat depart. I thought this was an interesting nature study showing an unexpected harmony between species.

Cats are generally distrusting of other non felines, and the foxes jump at the slightest sound. The people in one of the other buildings leaves kibble out for them and I guess they have gotten used to each other. I left some watermelon out for the foxes the other day and it disappeared rapidly.

Actually it's good to know species can live in the same area
