the primary mode of long distance transportation in Telluria is trains - this is a sketch of how I imagine they might look.
I'm trying to get a middlepoint between steam engines and modern trains.

You may not be looking for suggestions, but, assuming the engine is still at the front like normal trains, what about a length of pipe running from the front, along the upper sides of the car and exiting at the top? An exhaust tube basically, made of copper or bronze perhaps?
