Also, it looks like you're feeding a seed mix, I really recommend switching to food blocks. With blocks the rats can't pick and choose what to eat, so they will get more well-rounded diet. Also, a lot of the seeds can be too small for rats to eat (they can't hold them). I recommend brands like Oxbow Regal Rat or Harlan Teklad. Good luck with your boy, I bet he's a sweetie :)

Thank you for the Advice! I got him the seed mix because this is the brand my pet store feeds our rats and so far Lance has been clearing his bowl. I used to have a pet rat years ago but Lance is WAY more active than she ever was. I'll look into it though.

Unfortunately Lance was the last of his cagemates to go. I plan on a companion later when I can get a slightly bigger cage for him to play in w/ some accessories.
