Shaylee, the wolf, me
Buddy, a yellow lab (my son)
Rocky, a rabbit (my other son)

If this looks familiar for some of you, it's cause it is. The other pic has been put in scraps with comments hidden (couldn't figure out how to delete), but this was such a good pic, and Sila just looks so cute too. I just didn't want the negativity surrounding me and my kids anymore. I love all of my friends, and even those that do not know who I am that are so open, loving, and wonderful to try and defend me. For every one or two people I have come across that make horrible snap-judgements there are ALOT more of you that make me feel so proud to be a furry. Thank you!

Thank you. I would rather be there to help foster my children's creativity and let them use their imaginations. As long as I am there to protect them and guide them then what could be so wrong? I would rather that than have my children feel they must hide things from me, or that things are taboo.
*blush* thanks.
Ya, running into MP was totally a blessing. Kinda like I read somewhere. . . . . you don't BECOME a furry, you just learn there is a name for it. lol. SO, I was a furry and didn't even know there was a fandom and everything. Was planning on making/getting my own fursuit, and the kids kind of shocked me with their interest as well. Well, not really, with such a wonderful introduction who WOULDN'T want to be a furry?!?!?!
MP is awesome, and all involved! Staff and guests alike. Going this year as attendees was absolutely great. And my non-furry husband agrees with me wholeheartedly as well.

It was great seeing you again! Don't let people get you down. There is always a few rotten apples in the bunch. *hugs* I think you are a great mom and the fact that you came back with your own suits and dragged your poor confused husband along with you is great. I loved your suits and the kids suits were adorable. Did they tell you why they picked the animals that they did? I would be curious to know. :)
Can't wait to see you next year!

((BIG HUGZ!!))
Thanks!
Honestly I was a little shocked when they started telling me they wanted to fursuit in the first place, and then with what they wanted to be. I think I might have chosen different animals for them, but that's not what it should be about anyways, this was letting THEM use their imaginations.
My oldest, Buddy, says he chose a dog because, according to him, it just "fits", it's what he felt he wanted to be. He really loved Duke last year, so he said he knew he wanted to be a dog. But he made it his own, by not being a gshep and being floppy eared and his favorite color is yellow.
Rocky was the one that confused me. A rabbit?! huh?! But then he explained to me that he wanted to be like Brer Rabbit (he loves the movie), but with a green nose, ears, and eyes (different colors of green eyes even). And according to him, rabbits are cool. lol.
Now that I have thought about it, the rabbit has grown on me, and fits him pretty perfectly. He is super energetic, a "ham", and a complete trickster!
Thanks!

When I first saw the suits I didn't realize that they were you until I heard you speak. I think it's great that they picked what they wanted to be. I look forward to seeing you next year and see how much they have grown. You take care and if you need anything, just let me know. *hugs*
You really impressed me Shaylee. I mean ive seen furry parents bring their kids to sons and meets and the like, but as far as i know ive never seen a whole family get in suit! Such a killer idea! I wish more furry parents did that!
And dun worry about the haters. There just jealous cuz their moms wasn't an ADORABLE purple and grey wolf who made them into cute critters too.

Thank you. ((Hug)) I'm just being supportive of them developing a creative outlet and using their imaginations, like any mom should. If they want to be furry or not not is totally up to them.
But I see no problems with sharing with them the age "appropriate" sides of the fandom I love.
