I never knew the story behind the Vaati (I never played any of the games, as I don't own a DS). Are they the 'Dark Hylians' that were shown briefly in Link's dreams in Twilight Princess, the ones that eventually became the Twili? The ones that were banished from the realm of the light for using magic for dark purposes (greed, lust for power, etc)?

vaati's heritage is minish, he stole the cap to become a great sorcerer, changed himself into a demon or hylian, since his heart was affected by the evil in men's hearts. he became power hungry.
