So during my downtime, when I wasn't playing video games, I decided to work on some art. As I didn't have anything other than my games to distract me, I was able to get into a creative overdrive that let me pump out a couple of works (some of which I can't post outside of Fur Affinity, sadly, but hey; at least it's something).
This particular image is inspired by the Sonic/Megaman comic crossover saga that has recently finished up it's run. In it, Wily combined his Robot Master technology with Eggman's Robotization technology in order to turn Sonic's friends into the "Roboticized Masters". They were eventually turned back, but I began to wonder what MY characters would look like if they were exposed to the process? Of course, Matt would be immune to it as he IS the master of Chaos, but I still had Stealth, Slam & Crystal to work with, so I decided to give it a go.
The main problem with all three of them was in designing their heads. Since they all have the whole "impossible bangs" thing going on, I had to try and incorporate it in some way. I feel as though the end result looks relatively decent, though there are a few things that I think I could go back & improve on.
The name for their group as a whole, "The Randomness Unit", was kind of a last minute decision that I decided to go with. For those who aren't knowledgeable enough in Megaman lore to get it, is sort of a toung-in-cheek reference to the "Genesis Unit" of Wily Wars fame, which was also comprised of three specialized robots that acted as Wily's Enforcers for the game. It was either going to be that or the "Master of Chaos Killers" (in reference to the "Mega Man Killers" from the Gameboy Mega Man games), but the former won the coin toss.
Now for each individual master's bio...
Slam Man
"We are da Randomness Unit! Prepare 'ta be crushed!"
Serial Number: EWN00A
Weapons: Shockwave Slam (standard attack), Rapid-Fire Rush (special attack)
Weakness: Fireball Blitz
Bio: "Leader" of the Randomness Unit, Slam has been roboticized into a heavy-ordinance combat robot powered by the Soul of Spark. His Shockwave Slam attack sends an electrical wave across the ground that can destroy even the toughest of armored alloys, and his Rapid-fire Rush can spread almost 300 RPS across a wide area. Despite how dangerous he is, though, most tend to not take him seriously because of how clumsy he can be sometimes.
Good Point: Powerful
Bad Point: Clumsy
Likes: Blowing things up
Dislikes: Being ignored
Notes: When it comes to Slam, I've always had a problem getting across the fact that his attributes are grounded in the "Power" department. This largely comes to the fact that I initially envisioned him with a similar build to mobians like Sonic and other similarly-bodied Mobians. His initial redesign into his current incarnation was intended to fix that, but even then I could never get the kind of broad-shouldered, bulky look I envision for him down on pixels all that well.
In designing Slam Man, I took priority in making his design have that "bulk" that he was lacking in my past attempts at drawing him. I took cues from other bulky-built robot masters (such as Guts Man, Frost Man, Junk Man & the like), and attempted to make his design revolve around a sort of "Heavy-Weapons" kind of theme. Of all my Roboticized Master designs on display here, I think I like Slam Man's design the best in the end.
Stealth Man
"I'll burn you to cinders, and you won't even see it coming!"
Serial Number: EWN00B
Weapons: Fireball Blitz (standard), S. Camouflage (Special)
Weakness: Crystal Mist
Bio: The intelligence/black-ops member of The Randomness Unit, Stealth's bio-mechanical implants were mutated by the robotization process; causing his MechEye to become corrupted. Powered by the Soul of Fire, Stealth is able to generate flames that reach as high a temperature as nearly 600̊0 degrees, which he can shoot from the vents on his wrist as fireballs. He is also equipped with a powerful invisibility field generator that he uses to turn completely invisible; allowing him to sneak up on opponents to take them out without them knowing.
The normally fearful cautious nature of Stealth is nowhere in Stealth Man's coding. He'll be more than willing to fight you face to face, but isn't afraid of using underhanded tactics as well in order to trip you up. This can, however, lead him to being somewhat reckless, though. His circuits are also still hardwired with this love for Crystal as well, hence his obvious weakness.
Good Point: Bold
Bad Point: Reckless
Likes: Crystal Woman
Dislikes: Slam Man
Notes: Stealth Man was an odd one to do. He was the last of the three I designed, so I had already gotten a good idea of how to handle certain parts of his design from my experience from the previous two, but that still left a lot I had to figure out. The idea of his eye came from my remembering what Robotization does to things that are already mechanical after initially finishing it in the first place, and trying to think of a way to explain how robotization would work on him without killing him. I surmised that if Stealth's MechEye were comprised of artificially-generated organic material integrated with electronic circuitry, then that would allow me a sort of "cheatsy" way out of having to explain that detail in the future. The rest of the designing process is pretty straightforward.
Crystal Woman
"I'm afraid that I am left quite cold to your approach..."
Serial Number: EWN00C
Weapons: Crystal Mist (standard), Icicle Crusher (special)
Weakness: Shockwave Slam
Bio: Not to be confused with a "Rule 63'd" version of a certain Robot Master from Mega Man 5, Crystal has been Roboticized and transformed into the icy killer known as "Crystal Woman". Drawing energy from the Soul of Ice, Crystal Woman can used the special cryo-generator located in her "chest" area to release an icy mist out of the vents on her body. this mist forms a protective shield of icy clouds that are so cold they will freeze anything instantaneously; even energy projectiles! She can also summon & drop giant icicles from the sky to impale and crush her enemies under tons of freezing ice.
Whereas Crystal was once a kind and warm-hearted individual, Crystal Woman has no such emotions in her icy shell. As far as she's concerned: if it's not frozen, she'll freeze it. And if it's alive, she'll kill it. Even so, her love of Stealth is still very much hardwired into her circuits, so at least she has that going for her personality-wise.
Good Point: Resolute
Bad Point: Unfeeling
Likes: Stealth Man
Dislikes: Everything Else
Notes: To be honest, I'm not all that pleased with Crystal Woman's design. She just looks too..."generic" in comparison to the other two. That, and the vents on her body stick out WAY more than I initially wanted them to. All in all, I could have done so much more with her, but most of my creative juices at the time went into Slam Man, so I didn't have that much left to use on Crystal Woman. Still, it's a passable job at the least, though I may redesign her sometime later on...
Welp, that's it for this one. Please let me know what you all think!
