yeh man, when i try to use a pick it sounds like a complete mess!! i dunno why
but i can strum with my big thumb nail so it must be some kind of mental block, heh

the guitar i got was only 100 bucks, which is nice cuz i'm way amateur and i didn't want to grab one that was crazy expensive, hand made in spain etc

I used to have really long fingernails on both of my hands. My index fingers and thumbs eventually had skin on a section of the nails, making them impossible to cut. A friend who did manicures (She was my fag hag for a short while) filed them down for me, and now they're at normal length.

My late grandfather kept the fingernails of his pinkies really long, too.

Yeah, my little brother is a classical guitarist and he lives through that every day..... and I laugh at him for it.

But on a serious note... do NOT ever go bowling. He ripped his thumb nail off and had to regrow it from scratch about 4 months before his Conservatory audition... which was cutting it ridiculously close

I once had this IT teacher who had decorative inch-long fingernails, she'd always end up pressing two keys at once (one that she meant to type, and the other which was in front of it that got hit by the nail, like d and r, l and o). Good times. :/

I bet they're great for making that rolling tapping sound, though, y'know when someone's waiting for something and they drop their fingers on a hard surface to make that sound? Like rubbing something on a washboard. I'll think of the proper name for it seconds after this comment is posted. That little stream of blood is quite gruesome, but hilarious with that face. D:',
