Oi... Those things were the bane of my young gaming days. Because I'm not one to rage quit, I would spends hours just trying to find a way to get around those things.
Oddly enough, I did find a way. If you drop the key, the Phantos stop chasing~ So, if you throw the key to where you want to go, the Phantos won't chase you~ >w<
