The reason I mention the series is that, in it, Pinkie is an orphan who wants her mommy and daddy back. At the end of Episode 6, the creators of the series make it seem as if Pinkie may still be living at the orphanage as the "Baby Cakes" are what, so far, we can guess to be her parents born again through magic.

This is likely just a lot of blab, but it all ties in where, for Pinkie, this pose would make a lot of sense based on Friendship is Witchcraft and how she would long to be loved and comforted. :)
