What a Lotad!Tiran the Umbreon was walking through a beautiful forest; the same thing he had done for the past few months. It was always a refreshing change of pace from the clustered cities with their shameless advertising and abundant of jerks. The stroll was getting so relaxing to the teenage Dark-Type that he dreaded ending it. Tiran was so allured by the serene environment that he didn’t notice he was being spied on.
“Ah, finally,” the small and unknown figure hidden in the bush whispered to himself. “I’ve been waiting so long for a suitable target!”
The mysterious prowler rushed out from the bush, leaped up into the air and landed before Tiran. The second the Umbreon laid eyes upon the unusually swift Pokemon, his eyes went wide and he gasped.
“Oh no, not a Lotad!” Tiran exclaimed, followed by a small sigh. “I knew this walk was too good to be true. Just get out of my way, please.”
The Lotad had a wide smile on its face, despite the rude demeanour of the Umbreon. “Hello sir!” it chirped, hoping a few times on the spot. “Yes, I am a loveable Lotad! Can you please do something for me, sir?”
Tiran sighed yet again, quickly becoming annoyed by the tiny nuisance. “No, just get the hell out of my way, you fricking Lotad!” he snapped.
Again, the Grass-Type remained strangely calm throughout Tiran’s uncouth outburst. “Please, sir, can you look into my eyes?” he inquired, grinning goofily. “I think there is something wrong with them.”
“I’ll looking into your eyes alright and tell you to bugger off!” Tiran snarled aggressively, lowering his head to the Lotad’s level to give him a death glare.
Lotad’s expression finally changed; twisting from a simple-minded grin into a devious smirk. His eyes erupted into a compilation of green spirals, swirling around at a fast pace. They even gained a bright glow before they began to flow directly into the surprised Umbreon’s eyes.
“What...the h...,” Tiran couldn’t even finish his sentence. His jaw dropped in awe and the same collection of spirals appeared in his eyes.
“I am going to turn you into my slave, Umbreon!” Lotad declared, his expression switching back to a merry mood.
“Nnnnnhh...” Tiran attempted to protest, unable to form even the simplest of words.
Lotad stood on its tippy toes, pressing his face so close to Tiran’s that the entranced eon could only see the hypnotic swirls. The spirals spun at a faster yet even speed, their mind-numbing effect draining away Tiran’s will.
“Obey me, obey me, obey me!” Lotad demanded in a cheerful and childish tone.
Tiran could no longer fight the mental onslaught dished out by the Pokemon he despised. He no longer wanted to. A small smile curled up on his face; not as wide as the Lotads’, but it was still a sign of his submission. For such a petit Pokemon, the Lotad’s hypnotic power was proving to be just as mighty as a Psychic Pokemon who specified in the skill.
“Obey, I must obey!” Tiran shouted out, full of a hypnotized glee.
“You love Lotad!” Lotad injected into the suggestible Umbreon’s brain. “You think Lotad are awesome! You think I am awesome because I am a Lotad!”
“I love Lotad! I think that they are awesome!” the brainwashed teen merrily exclaimed, smile broadening. “I think master is awesome because he is a Lotad!”
“I am so awesome that you never want to leave this forest! You want to stay with me and worship me forever!” Lotad told Tiran, being his regular blissful self for his deceitful plot.
“Master is so awesome that I never want to leave this forest!” Tiran repeated in his own words, wagging his tail like some dog getting petted. “I want to stay with master and worship him forever!”
With an overjoyed squeal, the Lotad hopped up and down before running and disappearing into a bush. Tiran stayed exactly where he was, his eyes still spiralling and glowing, not even acknowledging that his new master was no longer present.
“I won’t be long, my slave!” The tiny enslaver’s voice shouted out. “Just need to get you a cool accessory!”
“Yes, Master!” Tiran replied, looking towards the direction of the voice.
The Lotad sprung out from the shrubbery, each hand holding a yellow leaf. He landed before his slave and stuck both of the leaves above Tiran’s mouth in a poor effort to simulate a Lotad’s beak-like face feature.
“There! You now look more like a Lotad!” Lotad informed him, looking upon his work with a proud smile.
“Yay!” Tiran exclaimed, hopping on one spot. “I look like an awesome Lotad!”
The Lotad jumped up onto Tiran’s back after he finished emulating his master’s joyful hops and patted him on the head. “It’s time to go, slave! I can’t wait to introduce you to my Lotad friends!”
“I can’t wait to I meet them, Master!” a very eager Tiran said, his smile stretching as far as he could go. “Lotad are so awesome!”
The End I came up with this idea while watching Tiran’s stream. He was playing Pokemon Emerald with a program that randomizes the Pokemon you encounter, i.e., different starter Pokemon, different wild Pokemon and even different trainer Pokemon. During the stream I found out my friend has a dislike towards Lotad so, being the great friend that I am, decided to write this mini story.
Remember, Tiran, an ending where a Pokemon remains brainwashed is always a good ending.
I can be such an ass.
