As Founder of The-Mew3-Townside Group on deviantArt I like to run annual contests revolving around the idea of Mewthrees. 2013's contest was a versus contest based on the 16th Pokemon movie "Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens:. For the actual contest itself, the idea was for our members and guests to create an image of an epic battle between a Mewthree of their choosing against Genesect, as the only thing to ever really take out a Genesect has gotta be a Mewthree (or in the case of the movie, a supped up Mewtwo). There are two Co-founders of our group, that being Corrupt-Light and The-Evil-Mewthree which basically automatically get screwed out of participating in the contests due to their positions and the fact they're basically judges every time I decided to throw a contest out there. I also invited SSJ3Mewtwo to be the back-up judge in case something went wrong as summer holidays can do that. As an expression of gratitude for dealing with my highly annoying demands and rules, a little picture for the judges of the contests' guidelines, sort of. Bottom is Corrupt Light's Arbiter. Bottom-left is The Evil Mewthree's Mewthree. Top-left is SSJ3Mewtwo's Daniel. And top-right is my own Mewthree, Mewblade.
This image is the one reason I didn't want anyone to chuck multiples of any character into a fray; it looks way too busy. I opted for blocked out images with extreme angle everything. Wasn't going to really fight color here, with three of the Mewthrees basically either being or looking like dark types, and Evil's Mewthree opting to be the literal exact inversion of Mewblade in color and the only odd one out of the three to do so (if it weren't for the other two, Mewthree and Mewblade would compliment each other so nicely). Attacking style was varied and not bloody, partially since Mewblade and Arbiter are extremely brutal and would overkill literally, and the other part being that I'm not familiar with either Daniel's or Mewthree's fighting style as much. Other than that kept the fighting compositions tight, varied angles and tried not to repeat the exact same attack one thousand times. Hate drawing Genesect, and somehow managed to do four in varied poses. No idea how.

I see what you mean about it being tough to deal with multiple scenes in one image - still damn nice though!
This pic reminds me that I wish this is how the Genesect/Mewtwo matchup would go normally...but everyone equips their Genesect with goddamned Choice Scarf (1.5x Speed) and has it know U-Turn, so it outspeeds Mewtwo, hits for double damage, and gets to switch out before Mewtwo can give it a proper 4x damage Flamethrower to the face. Genesect ends up being another check against Mewtwo that really doesn't deserve to be in place.
I don't know if you did this before the movie's plot came out, or had the majority of the work done on it then, but given it was only the Red Genesect that was pretty much a dick in the film, I'm surprised you didn't have it being little red shiny bastard that would be about to get mauled.

It's more to the concept of focus rather than difficulty. Cramming things into an image can be easy. Cramming things into an image and making it look presentable and somehow uncluttered is not.
Genesect is a Mewtwo killer just by type definition alone. Thankfully both Pokemon are not tourney legal, so no ones suffers from either in more proper settings.
Red shiny Genesect would have been a horrible contrast color choice. Thought about it momentarily but would have been a bad idea.
