An unknown time later…
Gilga thecursed enchanted fae coon shifted awkwardly in his… well, his nursery. This was something new that the fae had only sprung on him this morning, shifting him into this giant-sized nursery "for his own good," they'd said. They'd filled the room with toys to keep him occupied while they were out doing something: he was already bored out of his mind. The only sound in the room right now was his thick crinkly diaper, which somehow filled the room with every movement: they have to have done that intentionally, he thought sourly. Gil idly played with a small stuffed grey wolf and wondered where they had to go that had put them in such a gleeful mood…
*glingle*
Ah, speak of the devils.
The aetheric winds shifted, foretelling the fae's arrival. Gil braced himself for whatever new horror his keepers were going to unleash on him, his mind filled with thoughts of animated babysitting teddy bears and thick fuzzy mittens…
They arrived as they always did: the glingle of tiny silver bells, a flash of light, and a faintly spreading mist of fairy dust. And they were not alone. With all the careful reverence afforded to a real baby, they lay their precious cargo on the playful carpet.
It - HE - was a kangaroo rat, maybe about his size, which was odd, since most roo rats Gil'd seen were a lot smaller than him, but maybe they played with his size a bit, and he looked like he was asleep. And he was wearing a blue-green t-shirt and a thick crinkly babyish diaper, the same kind that Gil was wearing.
Gil didn't know what to think. Had they conned another over-eager person? Was he a kidnapped innocent they're tricked into playing their games? Or was he…
"Look, sweetie! We found you a playmate!" the red one chimed.
"A… p-playmate?" Gil sputtered aloud, staring pitiably at their latest victim.
"Yes, a playmate!" the green one exclaimed. "This little one was walking around in the big scary world, and we could tell that he was just a little baby like you were, and so we thought he'd love to play with you!"
The blue one piped up now. "All we had to do was make him take a nap, and he came along as easily as you'd please. He's such a sweetie!" And with that, the blue one started tugging on the back of the poor kangaroo rat's thick diaper, making it crinkle loudly. "Come on, little one, no time to sleep! It's time to play!"
"That's right!" the green one spoke again, now pulling on the back of his shirt, "Nap time is later, silly baby!"
The roo rat stirred as the magical sleep laid on him dispelled. "B-ba… by…?" his tired voice mumbled from the depths of whatever dream he'd been having.
"Yes, that's right!" the red one giggled as it danced around the room. "You're our new baby! And we'd love you to meet your big brother Gilga!" The little fae flew under the roo rat's head and lifted him up to face Gilga. His eyes twitched open, slowly and heavily, and the first thing the poor thing saw was the fae coon, looking very uncomfortable. "Say hi to little Jay-Jay, Gilga!"
Gilga could only wave at the confused roo rat – Jay, Gil guessed – as he blinked the sleep from his eyes. Oh, this was going to suck…
At last (after like, a week XD), the promised followup to this pic, and… well, looks like poor Jay's REALLY in over his head now…
So, this amazing pic was done by Wen, and it's… well… amazing. I love all of the details she put into it, and it's really fun and well done. I've wanted a pic from Wen for a while, and I was so glad that Gil helped me get this chance. I'm looking forward to getting more Wen pics in the future, but for now… well, let's enjoy this one. And Gil, it was fun to work with you on this one. I wonder what sort of fun we can have in the future. ;)
Also, I wish I'd thought to provide a reference for Soon Bear in this pic. XD
