This could also be called 'When Mel met Carrie'. This is the very first time Mel, the sperm whale, and Carrie, the great white shark, meet shortly after Carrie has been hired by the company Mel works for. Seems everyone else in the company has yet to get used to the new girl while Mel has no problems making her acquaintance.

Swordfish dude, Manta Ray dude, Bottlenose Dolphin girl, Humpback whale (impossible to tell gender), and the two primaries....
But I can't figure out what the girl on the left is supposed to be. :/
I don't know my Cetaeceans that well, it seems.
Also, I did think Cthulu at first, but then I noticed the facial vents. Makes him an Octopus of some kind. ('The Ancient Ones' don't breathe, therefor the vents would be superfluous.)

But I wouldn't have even been close in guessing, I thought she was a Beluga whale at first O.o
I have to wonder, though, honestly... Why does Mel need glasses? Too many years sitting in front of a computer? These things intrigue me.
Also, It sucks that workplace prejudice like this actually happens, this pic is a gentle reminder, in my mind, that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Great Stuff, Todd.

A lot of my characters likely have glasses because I wear them too. I have since I was three years old actually so they've been a huge part of my life. As for why Mel might have to wear them, he may be a touch near or far sighted. I'm thinking that by the time he and Carrie finally get together, he'll have had either have contacts or Lasik surgery.
About the workplace prejudice, I didn't think it would be outside of the realm of possibility that the first toothed shark to work there would be somewhat reviled despite most of the pictured characters being carnivores in some form themselves. And I've definitely seen that prejudice at work where I work sometimes too.

Working with Cthulhu must be awesome, but what are they working into? (sorry if that question focuses more on the backstory than the piccie itself ^^; )
And as for the cast...that's just the most perfect melting-pot I've ever seen. Remind me why I haven't commissioned you yet? Because even a sketch from you would be great! :D

It's a tight fit because he works out and subconciously, he likes to show it off. And he's too lazy to go buy new shirts.
I haven't really figured out what sort of work they do other than it's an office of some sort. I think Carrie might be in data entry or some starting level job and Mel is somewhere towards the top.
I don't really do commissions any more. I'm bad enough with trades and requests so I hate taking money for things my stupid inspiration might desert me on. As for the characters, I just started picking species at random as I thought of them and tried them as anthros right on the spot.

and it's OK for the commissions :) I've tried a few already, and I think it's better when the artist surprises me with the idea, concept or design, instead of me telling everything :/ sometimes it doesn't turn out as good as you expected, or as good as you've paid for it

I'm trying to do a few of those types of pics and back away from so much porn. I still keep getting ideas for it but am resisting the impulse to draw them in favor of images like this to learn more about the characters themselves than how good they are in (or out of) bed.
