I'm going for a 'middle ground' of oppression for a cyberpunk setting. Certainly nothing like Battle Angel where people kill you for your organs, but also not a terribly fun place to live either.

Yes, I imagine it sucks having to pay for something that was free at one point! It happens alot in real life, I think the concept isn't too far fetched!
