Well to me as long as it isn't permanent it's fine.

Technically, it is permanent, so long as i 'm in Equestria that is. Could be worse, because of my alternates dislike of being with people, he'll turn into a Diamond Dog if he ever goes there!

It's called the "Common Creature Law". It's a universal law that applies to living beings and other animate objects. It allows them to go from one universe, like ours, and into another world in a form where they can fit in. Like if we were to go into the lion king universe we would change into feral animals to fit in where our personalities will work best. So it's only permanent as long as we remain in that other universe. Coming back to our own changes us back to normal.

But, why can't we just stay in our own regular forms?

Picture being a creature like us. Walking/talking animals. Picture coming to a world where only humans walk around and talk. If we didn't change to fit in there, the humans would see us as alien and would capture us, question us, and experiment on us. Plus, the laws of physics is different depending on which universe you enter. I certainly wouldn't want to be a normal person entering a cartoon universe where being made of rubber is better than flesh and bone.

But, you're talking about reality there.... And I'm not one to believe that "aliens" exist anyway.

But what part of the planet you're going to depends though, I mean if you came to the USA in a different form, of course they would do that.

That's true, if I were to show up in another part of the world like Egypt, I'm sure they would see us as gods. But the law is meant to allow us to fit in anywhere on the planet. As for aliens? I don't believe them either, but if they turn out to be real it won't surprise me.

They don't actually stick a probe up there. That was made up be rednecks and became very popular through jokes and other media. Notice that America has the highest number of UFO sightings and is the only one where people claim to have been probed. No, real aliens dissect captives and they are never seen again.
