Graven Image

"Cass,that's incredible!" Laretta exclaimed as she saw the picture.

"WoW! Ya look like a queen!" Vixina added.

The image in question was a photo of The Rock Vixen, dressed not in her usual stage dress,
but in an elaborate colored robe covered in jewelry and wearing an elaborate crown. Cassie
had invited all of the members of the band over to her house to discuss the new album they
had been working on over the course of the last few years. It's the first time that all of
the ladies had been together since Cindy's wedding to Vic last fall. "Thanks. It's me
dressed as a Byzantine Empress. It's supposed to represent a classical Icon. I'm proposing
it as a possible album cover." Cassie replied as the pick was passed around.

"So, how did you come up with this idea?" the gothic doe furry morph Rachel asked as she
studied the image in her hand paws. "I blame my husband", Cassie began with a slight giggle.
"He studied the Byzantine Empire when he was in college. I began to read some of his notes
and books and became quite intrigued with the whole history of the Eastern Roman Empire. So,
I got the idea of having this photo taken as a surprise for him on his birthday. I had the
costume made in Greece with input from some people from the Byzantine Historical Society so
it would be as authentic as possible. Let me tell you,Foxonian loved it! I then came upon
the idea of maybe using it as a possible album cover,with the title of the album being
"Iconography." What do you gals think?"

Sitting on a couch in the corner of studio rec room, a snow leopadess morph wearing a black
minidress with red flames stiched into the material just above the hem, sheer black nylon
stockings & garters and strapped red stiletto sandles(now off and on the floor next to the
couch) studied the pick and said "Wondered how you were going to upstage my wedding dress.
I should have known you come up with something." With a look of surprise, Cassie came over
to sit next to her best friend and said "Cind, I never indended to do that! I loved your
dress. It was best part of the wedding. Much better than what I did." With a sly grin,
Cindy said "You should know better than to believe me!" the snow lepardess than began to
burst out laughing.

Cassie shook her head and smiled. She never changed. In fact, Cassie was proud as how well
her friend got through the pressures of her wedding. The blachlerette party that Cassie put
on went smoothly with no major outburst of drunkenness from anyone involved. Then, the
wedding up in the NH mountan chapel set among the autumn leaves was right out of a Maxfield
Parish panting. Both Cassie & Foxonian felt proud to be both maid of honor & best man
respectively. Add to that a wonderful reception catered by Cindy's own father from his
Brooklyn deli,and you could not ask for anything more. Cassie's only regret was Shiva's
absence these last few months. Even Dominic, Rachels fiancé didn't know of her where abouts.
This gave the Rock Vixen much concern, since it usually ment that trouble was afoot.

"Hey Cass! You still with us?" Cindy asked. Startled for a moment, the Rock Vixen said "Oh,
sorry guys! Just had something on my mind." "Well, anyway, I think this pick looks neat. I
vote we go with your idea." Cindy said as she handed the pick over to Larettta. "I dunno,"
The wolfess with the multi colored head hair began. "it seems a little odd given when we have
done in the past to have an album with a cover like this. Don't get me wrong, you look
awesome in in this dress Cass. It just doesn't feel like an good fit for the band to me.
Especially since this isn't a concept album just a collection of songs that we haven't released
yet." "I have to agree with Laretta," Rachel added from the other side of the studio.

Cassie looked around the room.Both Laretta & Rachel had a valid point. This was "last minute"
idea she sprang on them. However, as with all things since they began, she would abide by what
the band wants. Even if it means coming up with another album cover idea. "Well, I love this
title & pick and I say we do it!" Alex said as she sat on one of her drum kit stools in her
trademark red mini dress. "I ah-gree fully! It somthin' different. No wha anyone expects.
Thas just plan cool ta me here!" Vixina said as she adjusted her wide rimed specticles on her
fox-like muzzle. "Okay, looks like we have a good indication of where this is going, but I
would like one more person's opinion. Yang Li? What do you think?" Cassie asked the tall golden
dragoness sitting in a tall backed chair near Cassie's office.

Lowering her snake like head slightly,the golden dragoness responded, "I appreciate you asking
me for my thoughts on this,especially since I am not an "official member" of the band." "We
think you are Li. You have done so much for us!. I respect your opinion." Laretta said. "As
do I," Rachel said. "Very well. I say you should do it." Yang Li replied, crossing her shapely
golden legs that came just out of her green jade geisha dress. Laretta & Rachel exchanged nodding
glances then looked at Cassie.

"Okay, then! Iconography it is! With that decided, please feel free to have nice BBQ food
courtesy of our two master chefs out there." The rock vixen pointed just outside the studio door
to the lathe picnic table set up on the lawn filled with plates,condoments and a cooler of soda.
Next to the table was a large grill with a tall human and a slightly taller white tiger morph
taking burgers & hot dogs off the burners and on to a platter. As the ladies filed out,the golden
dragoness came up to Cassie and asked,"Any word on Shiva?" "None Li. I wish I could say
otherwise," the rock vixen replied,noticing the sorrow in the dragoness' snake like eyes.

"I understand," Yang Li said before walking outside with the others. As Cindy approached, Cassie
looked at Foxonian & Vic and said, "Cind, we have a lot more than some." "I hear you Cass," The
snow leopardess replied as she saw the golden dragoness standing next to a tree with her hand claw
on her dragon like muzzle with her head bowed.
