Allie recently wrote a very accurate representation of how you feel having depression around others: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.ca/
I thought I would add by explaining how it feels to have Anxiety around others. Hopefully these two things will give you a breif glimpse into my world.

^^; but yeah I was in that state of mind only to realize I'm only making my own problems bigger then they really are if I allowed them to be that large, even with any type of major setbacks, always finding a way through it, spite as cheesy as it sounds is the true way to progress.
Or, a friend. Talk to someone you trust with both your feelings and your life. You'd be amazed at how talking will suddenly cause that leap to shrink by a. Few yards.
My last "Huh, that worked" was a lot of vitamin A & D, you get those from us light, and with the weather in some places it helps ward cabin fever
Bleah.
I dunno if you mind me extending the metaphor, but I think the people who help best are those who help you build a bridge and (pardon the pun) get over it. But exactly how that's done... well, life's a little more messy than some want to believe. You might need to fall into the canyon a few times before you get a working bridge, if you don't sabotage yourself or give up partway through.
*hugs* Whatever the case, I hope you will be able to get over that canyon someday. I'll be cheering for you.
Anyway, I know that feeling, and I know the feeling of watching everyone else successfully navigate life when you can't. It sucks, and I've been there.
*hugs* ~
