I've been commissioning Shawntae Howard ever since my first convention, and this year's Anthrocon was no exception. Here, I asked him to draw a character I haven't even debuted online yet!
Meet Zephyr the osprey. She's not a new character (she has a role in the already-completed Auran Connection), but I haven't posted any pics of her yet. Yep, I have avians on my roster, and this lovely girl is a member of an elite special forces unit called the Iron Raptors, an all-avian squad of the R-Force. She's the youngest member, but makes up for her lack of experience with brave determination and boldness. In the events of the novel, she quickly befriended Rix and Lana.

I gave Shawntae free reign to design her form, features, and outfit. She turned out great as a result! I hope to show more of this bird in the near future.
