Hmm.... I think I've figured out why your work looks a bit off to me.

Not mocking you, just an observation. You seem to be using a felt pen to ink it, then coloring using a digital art program of some sort.
Am I wrong? I could be wrong. But I just feel the lines are too prominent in the finished work, and just don't match. Like the lines are a separate entity.
Again, not making fun, just simple critique. You're still miles ahead of me in artistic talent. It's just the lines that seem off to me.
Your coloring and shading is great though.

If you look at the line art all I did was. Scan the pencilled artwork
Then use the burn tool to darken the lines then used photoshop 2.0 to color my artwork
Nothing fancy all trial n error done manually.
