The 48th and final episode of "The Thin Line," which wraps up the story in an epilogue.
An unusual writing exercise, this. This is the first time I've tried to write a story on a daily deadline, and write it pretty much on the fly. I had a good notion of where i wanted the story to go, though a few comments on the stories did end up shaping the plot line (especially the one involving the court-martial in Part I).
At ca. 280 pages and 115,000 words, this is probably one of the longest, if not the longest, story I've written. I've had a lot of fun writing this, and thank you to all of the regular commenters (
walt46,
heywulf and
marmelmm). Warm thanks in particular to
tegerio, who managed to tolerate a two-month long explanation of why one of the supporting characters in "The Ballad of Adler Young" is a widow!
I will be working to add illustrations to the story for the rest of the year (many from
tegerio), and at some point I hope to have this on the Recommended List for the Ursa Majors, and who knows, maybe even try to beat Sofawolf's steamroller for a nomination or win. One can dream.
Thank you all, regular readers, and do tell your friends about the story.
