So due to
SolidScale and
finalterrax getting me back into Spiral Knights, I finally got around to refining this old character I made back when I first started the game. Meet Ine, the Wolver adventurer (albeit a pretty bad one). TO save the massive wall of text, here's a link to a profile I prepared earlier: http://profile.aryion.com/profile/Ine
Ain't he the cutest little failure ever~?

A story a friend once told me...
His friend started playing Spiral knights when all his buddies were joining it. He started a game, and came across Wolvers. After hearing the little yelp they make when you defeat them, he just stopped, quit the game and didn't wanna play again 'cause the Wolvers were too adorable to kill XD

Spiral Knights is an awesome game, but I'm sad that the developers are making so many bad decisions and ignoring what the game needs most- rebalancing, both for enemy AI and for player equipment. As a veteran from sometime early 2011, I still have hope they'll start moving in the right direction again.
You mean Battle Sprites? Yeah, that'll be fun.
I don't like the new revive and loot systems, but I understand why that's in place- to stop multiboxers. It cripples the gameplay, though, especially on maps where you're supposed to spread out, like deconstruction zones and Charred Court of Firestorm Citadel.
Elite Difficulty seems promising but until they do more with it than flat stat boosts (which Nick claims is in the works), it won't do anything to make the game fun to me.
I'm waiting anxiously to see if they'll listen to all of the feedback this time around, especially stuff like Dazzling Light Ray's inferiority to Disintegration Ray or the complaints about the removal of health revives...

Yes, it makes consecutive revives less costly, but that 'free revive' can't replace the multiple revives you could give and get from your teammates. With the removal of health revives and this new system, there are few reasons to play in a group, especially since your teammates have to pay to revive you.
I'm fairly skilled and geared, and one of my favorite things to do in Spiral Knights is go back to earlier levels with random players. With the new system, that would be ruining the experience for other people; if they make any mistakes, I can't revive them, and they're stuck watching me storm through the level while they get no loot. In my opinion, getting kicked out of a level would be more enjoyable than watching someone carry me through the game. With the old system, I might still be carrying my team through levels, but there is no 'game over' screen for them. I just keep reviving them and they have more opportunities to learn and improve.
If you're wondering, I don't run through everything with the most OP gear (so it'd be like turning on a cheat even with the old revives); I've limited myself to certain gear choices in order to make the game more fun, if not only for myself. I avoid weapons like the Brandishes, Alchemers, Pulsars, and Mist Bombs, and I commonly use more skill-intensive weapons like the Callahan, Electron Vortex, and Rocket Hammer. The game's easy enough as is- poor Wolvers, Retrodes, and Skellies got nerfed way too hard...
