Believe it or not, Rarity would be fine. Her body mass is spread out enough to where she'll essentially, "float" where Kartonis's feet have a great deal of pressure on them, making him sink fater than Rarity. Eventually, he could use her as a life preserver, but he'll keep sinking until he's either pulled out (which is incredibly difficult to do without the use of air to break apart the sand and water, making it loose enough to climb out with the assistance of a board, or in this case, a pony) or he completely vanishes, leaving rarity floating over the quick sand until low tide or till she rolls to the side.

Being my thing, I know at least a couple dozen who are really actively into it as a primary fetish.
