This is another update of Gilrandree’s mythology. As usual, it’s meant to document for myself some of the ideas I have, but I’d love to hear thoughts, comments, or questions.
This one took a lot longer to post than I expected, mainly because I’ve been distracted lately. There’s also a fair bit of overlap between this one and the previous entry.
This one also tends to detail a bit more of the “evil" side of Gil’s nature than the others have. If you read this, keep in mind, it’s the mythology of a fundamentally evil creature.
Next up, I think a bit of “The Nature of a Demon." We’ve talked about the broad workings of creation and the underworld in some detail, but not what Demons actually ARE.

I like the suggestion that there's some souls sacrificed to him that he takes care of, but being what he is that may not always work out for the best.
Even if your boss/owner is one of the nicer demons, he's still a demon. And when he has a bad day, you get to have a VERY bad day.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Of course, some of those souls sacrificed to him end up being devoured by the demon, which I forgot to mention: They are among the creatures in this universe which can actually "end" an immortal soul.
Others they are corrupting, "recruiting" into their fold, to become actual demons. The ones they seem to care for are likely eventually going to end up as demons. Even the harem members who seem to find their place there, enjoying the "attention" they get from their master are very likely eventually going to find themselves as succubi, though they probably wouldn't really object to that "promotion."

Out of curiosity: Does he have to deliberately do something to them to cause that change, or does the environment and his actions naturally lead to it over time? Trying to hold on to the original state of a favored soul might become an interesting exercise in frustration either way, but why would differ.
I think it would be a deliberate thing, though that's an interesting question... Could one "self-change" once down there, if they "fit in?" I think, perhaps so, and this may actually make a good topic for one of the installations of the mythology.
In the case of Odontaspis (story elsewhere in this account), it was most certainly an intentional change, but one could easily imagine one of his harem eventually growing horns and a tail, her "succubus" nature sort of forming on its own. I actually like the idea that souls trapped in the Abyss for the pleasure of the Lord (rather than as those condemned to Hell) eventually become corrupted by the realm in which they live, taking on their own demonic natures.
