What's He Building in There?
Anyone want to guess what he's building? =3
An assignment for an illustration class, depicting some wierdo in his remote cottage building something bizarre and mysterious late into the night. It's actually a pretty quaint scene for how creepy of a song it was based off of (I don't know the song title or who sung it).
Lately I've been wanting to paint more and more in monochrome because I get these really great backgrounds, moods and lighting situations when I don't have to think about colour. Adding colour back in is the problem. With this one I painted it in monochrome acrylic paints (purpley) and added the small amount of colour in photoshop. Since it's a night scene, I can get away with little colour, but I'd like to be able to work vibrant colour into my monochrome paintings successfully without destroying the monochrome painting.
So I have one word for myself... glazing! I'm still trying to figure out a method of monochrome and glazing with acrylics or oils (or both) that works for me, so we'll see. =3
