I feel like I get way too impatient with my art and my art suffers majorly because of it. :c I WISH I had the patience to sit and work on a piece for days and days on end like I once did. @.@; I have to find a way to get that back somehow...
But it feels great to just haul off and do something epic like this, doesn't it? :D It gives you a nice feeling of accomplishment..

Sure does! I was happy when I finished!
And a good trick, not just with artwork but with pretty much anything, to keep yourself from burning out is to break up the work into hourlong increments.
Work for an hour, take a fifteen minute break to recharge, then get back to work. Having music in the background helps, too, and some people get a lot done by livestreaming and being able to have others track their progress!
A big part of why I'm able to get pictures like this done is that I'm constantly taking quick breaks to talk to friends on skype :D maybe not the most efficient way to get things done, but at least I don't feel overwhelmed by it.

Sounds like a good policy! Usually when I'm working on a big project, I stop periodically to go over the whole piece... and I check it meticulously... almost until I can't stand to look at it anymore. I find everything that bothers me and I fix it. xD ...then get back to it. I guess you could call that a break of sorts, but... not really. Haha... xDDD
When I'm working, I find skype a wonderful distraction. I love talking to people, but I love talking way too much. eue;

Yeah, excessive mistake fixing can slow things down a LOT. xHx And by break I mean straight up walk away from the thing, go watch silly cat videos or something and chill out for fifteen minutes before getting back to work. It does help! I'm bad about remembering to take breaks from drawing, but it helps me get through homework sometimes XD
I generally draw while waiting for people to respond over Skype, but sometimes I won't notice I have new messages for a while X3

Clever you~ P: I'll still sit there like an idiot waiting for them to respond. I'll sit there like, "c8" for a good 15 minutes until I give up, go scribble-scribble... "Sorry I was AFK..."
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. *ragequit*
