I guess foxes love the taste of human skin, as Skitter clearly proves in this shot. Not really, but she loves to lick people as a way to show her love, and it works! I felt my heart explode from the gesture, it meant a lot to me <3

I've had several different animals do this. Some domestic, some ... not so much. Are you sure she's just not after the salt from your sweat? I don't know anything about foxes to know for sure if this is a sign of affection, or just social grooming behaviour. One thing for certain, it sure is cute!
Such a touching photo ^^. A beautiful way to show to the world vulpines are not pests and vermin. but beautiful canines that could be just as loving and affectionate as a domesticated canine! And to those who are envious or jealous. you have no reason to be! Everyone has a wonderful experience like this at least once! I once freed a fox from a hunter trap in the woods and actually got to give it a stroke before it scittered off. If you want a amazing moment you just need to be willing to take that chance. im not imploring you to TRY anything stupid as a wild animal is a very spookable creature. But if not. try to lend a hand at a zoo. or a sanctuary like this if you have one..the thrill of helping our furry animal friends is worth a million words..
Exactly my sentiments. Foxes are misunderstood, and granted, no one should try to take them from their wild, unmodified state and assume they will be tame overnight. But if raised in the right conditions (or in Skitter's case, a rescued kit) then socialized with humans, they can be just about the sweetest things out there. So loving, so adorable and moreover, unique. I'm glad she has the best care any animal could ask for, to be an intern there means a lot to me
I fully agree, i'm just laying my statement out there and how i was raised, and the conversation above about being envious or jealous, there should be no reason to be, everyone will have their fair chance. and i hope Skitter has a long and healthy life under the caring friends she has.
Just a little background on how I felt that morning; so I drove on the freeway, dealing with idiots on the road, feeling somewhat anxious about what the day's activities would hold. You know those mornings Well, I get there and I'm still more nervous than a coffee addict, still stressed about something. But once I got to play with Skitter, my anxiety was completely neutralized, and I believe she caught wind of my emotions, connected to me. There is a lot in animal psychology that fascinates me, plus the positive chemicals released in the brain
Animals are very receptive to human emotion. i intern at the Baltimore Zoo. i get to mostly feed the animals and a little cleaning maintence. the keepers tell me about which animals are social and friendly. i usually play with two lionesses named Sarvina and Sarabi. they are very loveable and they love to give lots of hind-leg hugs and playful pounces ^^. They help me start the mornings right
I remember seeing this video on YouTube where some lady was taming hyenas and I was surprised. I was shocked at their affection and even thought they looked adorable. Wolves I'm also a big fan of, they're powerful predators in the wild, but when tamed, they can be as innocuous as a kitten Working there has given me a sense of purpose, knowing that I'm doing something right
