Skitter needs petting and she needs it now :D I as a human, fall into a trance due to her cuteness and have no choice but to scratch her hears and her chin, not that I mind doing it though

I didn't even know this place existed till last December, than I called them up and went over there with my family. I was hooked, my love of animals (esp foxes) was reaffirmed and intensified. After a few months, the owner told me about internships and I voiced my interest. Then in April, she told me I could start in June, so I did, and it's been an awesome experience.
There was a show on Discover channel about how we domesticated dogs from wolves and other wild canines, in one scene there was this farm in Russia where they experimented in breeding sliver foxes and the difference between tameness and aggressiveness. the tame foxes would love to be picked up and held while the aggressive ones would attack and bite. the tame foxes over time through breeding of tame foxes with other tame foxes would start to have a different color pattern on them. Some of them would turn all white, or a mix of black & white markings that made them so beautiful. If they bred aggressive foxes with tame foxes they still would come out aggressive, while the breeding of aggressive foxes would always come out aggressive and tame foxes would come out tame. I wish I could go there and get me a couple tame ones for myself.
I've seen those videos, and those Siberian/Silver foxes are also very adorable. They would love to be held, there's this one I saw that when he was held, he started making the most adorable fox noises and wagged his tail like crazy. They crave human attention....foxes are so adorable!!

Hi,
Thanks for the link, that is from the documentary I saw and it was on PBS as well as on the Discovery channel. Maybe some day I'll get myself a fox or 2 for a loving pet, I would enjoy that.
Oh, gotta tell you, back in 1968 my family & I were vacationing in Montreal Canada and went to the zoo there, there was a pit filled with baby bear cubs. The pit was about 10 ft deep and everyone was enjoying watching the bears. I happened to be right over a petrified log in the pit and one of the bears climbed up on it and stood up on it, he could reach the top of the pit. Well he reached up to me and I reached down to him and petted him and enjoyed the feel of his soft silky fur, he held on to my arm as I was holding him, it was a truly wonderful experience. Then the log started to roll under him, he looked down at it and then looked back up at me, I held on to him so he wouldn't fall, then we looked at each other and he went back down. I was almost in tears of joy, I wanted to take him home with me. As I left we looked at each other again as if to say goodbye. Then the funny thing was watching everyone else around the pit crowding that same spot I was at to do the same as I did. It was the most wonderful experience I ever had with a beautiful furry creature and something I'll never forget.

Animals can have a massive positive impact on us, I have experienced it many times and it is irrefutable. The first time I played with a fox last year, my love for them was reaffirmed and reinforced. I felt wonderful, I felt great! In fact, I feel that way every time I play with Skitter when I do my intern work, she's about the sweetest little fox out there and shows an abundance of affection and love to all who play with her
Yes they do, and some of us don't realize it, while some do. When I was working in Alabama 5 yrs ago at GKN aerospace, I was staying at a local hotel in the town of Tallassee, the owners had an adorable little terrier that would play with anyone. I just loved him, his name was Chip. He would climb up on my chest as I was laying down on the couch in the lobby and just lick me to death, how I loved that. And last year I was working in ND at Goodrich Aerospace and staying at a hotel where the innkeeper had a also adorable Corgi named Bull. I played with him a lot. He loved to eat cooked spaghetti and I would always give him some. I'd love to come out there where Skitter is and play with her too.
