Have you used a bamboo tablet before?
If so, which of the two do you prefer?

The bamboo tablet I had was over 10years old when it was given to me it's died so I had to buy a new one but when it worked I liked it

I've heard this new brand has a bajillion levels of pressure and is supposedly better than Wacom's tablets.

not bad. Huion K-series tablets definitely are better than the regular Bamboo tablets, but they still don't hold a candle to an Intuos or Cintiq. However, more important, is that if you can handle working with lag on that laptop should you do hi-res at 720p or higher. Sensitivity is not even close to the issue if your computer can't handle the amount of pixels you start working with. But still, the tablet you have is a good starter. I gave my mate my previous Bamboo Craft and my Intuos3, but she hasn't gone past the Bamboo yet due to her stubbornness to use a better laptop (which we do have)

the K-series is still better than a bamboo, so you should be set for now. you're probably looking at going on to an Intuos in maybe a year or two, depending on how far you want to go with art. the only thing holding you back now is whether or not your computer can handle what you're working on.

....you know I'm not starting out as a new artist right? I've been doing digital work since 10th grade I just now upgraded my tablet, from 9th grade up until a week ago i had my moms old tablet and it was up there in ae when I got it, lol if it works then I won't replace it until its dead.

up to you, then. I worked on tablets since freshman year in high school, and didn't upgrade until '06. After that, it burned down with my apartment and I bought 3 more tablets since '09. first the Bamboo Craft, then Intuos3 and finally ended with the Intuos4 last year.
