yeah, I actually drew something besides Alf or dragons, shocker!
anyway, I drew this pic because I really feel for mike in monsters UNI, he wanted nothing more then ever to be a scarer and worked hard his whole life to accoplish his dream goal only to find out in the end he does not have what it takes to be a scarer. then when he goes into the human world and finally comes to the realization he will never be a scarer and then that emotional scene between him and sulley, I was like FEELS EVERYWHERE.
I can relate because that is kind of the way I'm feeling right now.

not a good message, though - yes, your dreams will fuck you up and most likely be pipe dreams, but you can get pretty damn close. Mike wasn't a scarer, but he's the best damn scare director and comedian in Monsterland.

also seems that pixar forgot they were built on the dreams of others - Ed Catmull wanted to animate films and bring 3D graphics to them; Steve Jobs wanted to make powerful computers - and decided, "hey let's be crushing because lel"

well, he was happy at the end, even though he didn't get exactly the dream he wanted, but he get to bet friends with a scarer and still got to work at monster inc anyway. i think the message they were trying to convey was yes, having a dream to accomplish is important, but don't let it consume you life and making friendships to help you on your way is more important.
