Looking to possibly start making and selling custom made photo frames. These frames are all hand made, and can be built to any reasonable size. Standard frames are made from pine and then stained to the color desired.
You're Input!
Since i'm new to the entire commission thing, I'm not to sure what to charge for the frames. I do know that the shipping price will also have to be averaged in to each order. So please i'm looking for suggestions on pricing.
Artist Input!
I'm also looking for an artist who would possibly be interested in going in on a business deal. Possibly offering a discounted frame with the purchase of certain picture.
Please I'm definitely looking for feedback and suggestions. Anything welcomed!
Also on a side note I would just like to say that the picture in the above frame was a commission i received from
SugarCat and I did go back and cover up the naughty bits.

It can be a lot of fun doing something like this. When it comes to pricing, you need to take into account labor, cost of material, as well as comparative prices for similar works. If you decide to really get into it, you can also start cutting and matching the wood you use to get specific patterns and grains, which can add to the value. It's hard to throw out a price without knowing just what you put into it, but I would suggest checking out a local framing or hobby shop and start by undercutting them.
And see yes everything you do to woodworking can affect it's value. Most time when I go to price items like such at craft shows its way too expensive. I don't want to rip off anybody, but i don't want to be ripping myself off either. I would say the last time I was out and bought lumber it was like $6ish. and I know i could make at least 2 frames out of that.
