Yes I intended to take some break before the next upload, but things rolled in like this, so here it is! This idea is one of the earlier ones I had, idea number 68 in fact, which has to put it somewhere in the late 2005 or early 2006 .... maybe. Final Fantasy 11, the MMO that I played for the longest time, has introduced "fellow NPCs", characters who were NPCs (hence the name in green), but would accompany the player characters, aid them in battle and they'd even have their own quests. This idea was ingenious!!! I loved it! So much fun to play around, especially for me, a guy who always had trouble finding parties to EXP with!
The thing was... FF11 REALLY tried not to break the immersion with the game world and so very rarely would things be said that speak to the player, and not the character. This is why when obtaining the NPC, it wasn't about filling some form and just getting a speechless figure. It was a quest, you apparently have to find some person who's required in an important mission. It's like a thing where you describe a person you saw to a police officer, however players naturally never spoke of it that way, it was just gameplay terms... which is why when a friend/linkshell member (linkshells are the FF11 clans) spoke of how he accidentally created a Galka NPC fellow.... this scene played out.
Really, back when the idea was conceived I was still an awkward high schooler who was so terrified of being hugged, and that was the angle here, however the execution here is a more modern way for me to take it, heh. I think one way or another, I would always play an Elvaan and would always take a Galka as a NPC.
Wait, what's that? You question why I bother making a FF11 comic? I don't play it anymore and FF14 is coming out... Ehh I figured the later I make this old idea into a picture, the worse and more old it'll get, so here we go!
Also last note, the linkeshell pearl next to my name... that is meant to be the pearl of my old linkshell, Aenima, and Smidgett, was a great buddy, superb Black Mage. I feel like saying that I played the game on the Unicorn server, and also the leader of my linkshell was Raagnar. I'm just saying this, because I would LOVE to get back together in contact with some people from the game, hence the many hints....
<a big crowd surrounds me>
WHICH WON'T MEAN I'LL DRAW ANYTHING FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!!
<everyone leaves>
So yeah... Trivia note: FF11 was the first place where the name "farel" was used.

"My parents told me not to lick the Hist tree until my Naming Day, so I did. My parents caught me and a boy from my nest in a soft-leaf patch right before the naming ceremony. I feared I'd get more of a licking from my parents than I gave the tree... So I ran as fast as I could through the swamp and into the rest of the kids waiting for their naming ceremony. Everyone had a good laugh and the name stuck."
That's the story of how Traveling-New-Woman got her name. There's other argonians that have their names in that fashion, like Hides-His-Foot, Tongue-Toad, and Morning-Star-Steals-Away-Clouds.
Whenever I see a name origin of how it came to be, I call it a Traveling-New-Woman. The only source you find this out in Morrowind is by talking to her. You can check my name origin here.
