Fourth of July = Fireworks and lake.
Had fun on the beach, then went to the rock quarry, which is an old quarry that became flooded when the river was dammed back in the 50s. It has since become a party-spot laden with nifty graffiti, drunken people, cliff divers, and the occasional curious little raccoon. When I saw the raccoon, I had to go feed him! o.o
I got about 10 feet away at the closest, and threw many Cheez-Its™ at him. He seemed pretty happy and hungry!
After that we went knee boarding (even my parents did it!), where I did a few 360s, a backward-ride, and attempted wake-jumps (strap was broken though, so that was not really working).
By this time of the day clouds+cold front had made this normally hot day positively chilly, but we went to the dam and watched the fireworks. Driving home, I kept my sleepy-drunkish mom warm, and we all got to see fireworks all along the shore until we made it home (drifted in on fumes. Remember: Bring extra gas!)
