We relieved a crew of smoke jumpers on a small fire in Colorado. We wound up sleeping on the fire line and having all of our food and water delivered by sling loads.

Wow, you've been a busy dawg getting all these photos posted. It's interesting to see the inner working of something most of us never even think of.
I know it's not what you mean, but when you used the term 'sling load' I can get the image of sending supplies via massive slingshot out of my mind!

I used to have a lot of pictures from out west but now I can only find a few of them and they were all taken with 35mm film. I went to Wal-Mart and scanned in a few of my pictures this weekend. I have a scanner at home but the one at Wal-Mart is much faster and they only charge about three dollars per CD you produce. I'll do my best to send you the pictures I have.
Now as far as sling loads go........... Nah it was a catapult not a sling shot.....
